AWS Well-Architected Framework & Review
Are you fully optimising your AWS environment?
Your AWS Cloud environment provides significant business advantages, but how do you know if your AWS platform and services are optimised to their full potential?
AWS created the AWS Well-Architected program, framework and review service to ensure customers can optimise their AWS environments to best-practice standards. As an accredited member of the AWS Well-Architected Program, transACT can help customers improve their AWS environments by applying best-practices against five pillars that form the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Why is this important to your business?
A Well-Architected infrastructure helps you build highly available, secure, cost-effective, scalable, and efficient core systems that drive business results, ensure business best practice and provide first-rate cloud experiences.
How does it work?
A Well-Architected Review (WAR) will provide recommendations across the 6 AWS Well Architected Pillars including;
Focusing on running and monitoring systems, and continually improving processes and procedures. Key topics include automating changes, responding to events, and defining standards to manage daily operations.
Protecting information and systems. Key topics include confidentiality and integrity of data, managing user permissions, and establishing controls to detect security events.
Focus on workloads performing their intended functions and how to recover quickly from failure to meet demands. Key topics include distributed system design, recovery planning, and adapting to changing requirements.
Determine structured and streamlined allocation of IT and computing resources. Key topics include selecting resource types and sizes optimized for workload requirements, monitoring performance, and maintaining efficiency as business needs evolve.
Understand and avoid unnecessary costs. Key topics include understanding spending over time and controlling fund allocation, selecting resources of the right type and quantity, and scaling to meet business needs without overspending.
Determine how to minimise the environmental impacts of running cloud workloads. Key topics include a shared responsibility model for sustainability, understanding impact, and maximizing utilization to minimize required resources and reduce downstream impacts.
The Well-Architected Review will be conducted by one of our AWS certified solutions architects, this entails a half-day workshop including the end report with recommendations for process, design, application and workload improvements to optimise your AWS environment and deliver against your business objectives.
